The 13 BEST Side Hustles To Start (at EVERY AGE)

Hey guys, it's Mark. If I had to single out one thing that really helped me become successful , it would be all the little add-ons I've done on the side since I was a teen. Even today. Having a side hustle helped me get extra money in addition to my regular job. This has allowed me to save and invest far more money than would have been possible for just a nine-to-five job. But deciding which side business is right for you can be difficult. I mean, there are a lot of options out there. That's why today I'm going to go through some of my favorite ways you can make some extra money at every age.

I will also share with you my financial goals that I wanted to achieve at each stage. If you watch the video to the end, you'll know the perfect side hustle starts at what age you are and how you should pivot and adapt over time to make the most money possible. From 13, right up to my age, 33. I guess I got away with it, right? okay then.

Think of it like a Pokemon. You start small with few skills and then evolve and become more skilled and powerful. Perhaps one day you will become powerful enough to completely destroy that like and subscribe button at the same time. Well, let's start with the first level, which is when you were 13 to 16 years old, a side hustle target for that age was about $50 to $150 a month. Of course, this is just a benchmark for you to aim for but if you achieve more than that, you are way ahead of what you were at that age. When I was younger, I didn't have much money. So I had to start a side hustle which was cheap to get up and run. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to try everything and figured out what I did and I didn't like it.

I also made a lot of mistakes but you know what really doesn't matter because I didn't have a lot of money to lose in the first place. All I had was my time. And I had a lot of it. My first idea for you is to start some kind of service based business. When I was 14, I used to wash cars. I used to charge $2 per car, then $1 if they had a second car, which was great because the downtime costs were really low and all I needed was a sponge, a bucket and a bit of hard work.

You can also pick up these pressure washers now from the home depot, which cost just $149. And you can use this to clean people's aisles. If you charge $50 per trip, it only takes three jobs and you get a jet washer that pays for itself. So everything after that is one hundred percent profit. One of my clients worked for a big chocolate company, and as a tip he would always give me a huge box full of candy that I had never thought of eating because I was more interested in selling it at school.

This is something you can consider as well. A boy in the UK did this and was earning over 50k a year at multiple different schools until they closed. Wherever there is demand, money can be made. At school there was always a demand for sweets. You may have to check if this is allowed in your school, but I haven't. I just got it. You can only sell this from your backpack but what I suggest if it is really successful is to have your friends sell it to you and you can pay them on commission basis. So for every candy they sell you can give them 25 cents. It's amazing how you can learn about business and entrepreneurship by doing so from a young age.

It helps you understand how to manage people and make a profit. This was definitely a big reason why I fell in love with being an entrepreneur. The only problem with starting a side hustle at school was that you could only make money during the week. So a good way to make some extra money on the weekend is to become a sports referee. This is a great side hustle where you get paid to stay fit. It keeps you mentally strong. Where you have to make decisions quickly and get to know a lot of interesting people.

You can start at $14 and expect to win around $16 for a game, which is not bad at all. Second Level. This is when you are between 16 and 18 years old. When I was at that level, I had a better idea of what I enjoy doing and what I don't really like to do. I use this time to focus on getting better at the things I love to do and to develop my skills in those particular areas. My side goal for this age was between $250 and $400 a month. One of the easiest things you can do is become a teacher.

Let's say you earn about $20 an hour, but if you're not the best in school like me, for example, and don't think you have that option , you don't just have to teach the subjects. Most people have some kind of skill. Other people are interested in learning, and it's all about finding that skill and offering to teach it to them. So like I said, I wasn't the best in school. There was no way someone would pay me $20 to teach them English. Definitely. So instead I used to teach people to fly model helicopters. a little bit like this. With any tutoring side business, the money is always limited to the number of clients you can get. Most of them only want an hour of your time.

So it's a good idea to find another way to sell something of value to your customers as well. I was also able to make most model helicopters fly better by tuning them. I decided to offer this as a favor and take their models home with me after they had a lesson. So it's all about finding that win for your clients. It might be a good idea to sell your school notes or charge to be in an online group where they can ask you questions whenever they want.

The next side hustle is drop shipping which is great for anyone who's good with computers and the internet. Drop-shipping is where you advertise someone else's product and send it to an online store. Then the manufacturer sends the product directly to your customer. You don't have to physically touch the product, which is great. But Mark, drop shipping is terrible. It does not add value to society. Do something decent instead, bad advice. Now, wait, let me explain. Drop-shipping probably won't make you a millionaire like the online selling courses teachers will tell you the market is very competitive. The profits are very low and it's not a great business model in the long run, but I still think it's worth doing because it's a great way to learn how to run a company with very little start-up costs.

Drop-shipping is like a trial run. You are jumping at the deep end of a highly competitive market. It may take a wall to make a profit but the skills you learn along the way will be more valuable to you. In fact, it will be worth more to you than the money you will probably make. Most boomers who run huge companies have no idea how to use social media to promote their businesses. And their physical stores go bankrupt. They are bought by young entrepreneurs who have developed these skills and are able to use them to make businesses more profitable and move forward in the digital world.

So think of drop-shipping like a video game the more you play, the better skills and more valuable skills you will get to learn and if drop-shipping isn't for you, but you still want to learn digital marketing. Then YouTube is a very, very similar side hustle. It is very competitive and will focus you on upgrading your video production, marketing skills and everything you need to start this as a decent internet connection and some editing skills. Well, now the third level, who is 18-29 years old, the side activity goal for this age was 800-1.2 thousand per month. My primary focus was to make the most of the skills I had mastered. Many people call this work your genius zone. Over the next 10 years or so, it's all about working as smart as possible.

And now that she's 18, you can start investing that extra money in the long run instead of spending it. For example, if you just put $250 a month into a simple, low-cost index fund, with an average return of 7% per year, by the time you're 65, you'll have $1.1 million. And that's just a small part of the side income. So it should not affect your daily life. I explained this in my last video. So be sure to check it out if you missed it. The key here is to look at the skill set you've been building over the past few years and think about how you can level it up and charge more.

If you did drop shipping, when you were younger, maybe you can promote to sell your own products or run social media marketing ads for other companies, you can get a lot of money to help other companies with social media marketing. It is only by your appointment. They are actually going to make more money than to lose it. You are effectively paying which means you can charge higher rates. A good way to get your first client is to offer them work for free for a few weeks, use your skills to increase their sales. Hence they are less likely to say no when you ask them to start paying you for your skills. Even if they say no, you can go on to another job. You could say, look what you did for them. I can do that for you too. And the great thing about this is that you can do all of this from the comfort of your own home at your spare time. If you had a YouTube channel, when you were younger you could upgrade and become a graphic designer , photographer or videographer.

A friend of mine is a teacher in Australia and his side business is wedding photography. It was booked every weekend for the next year. For me, rather than just improving people's radar control models. I started building it from scratch. If you want a high-quality radio-controlled model and do not have the ability to build it yourself. You are the only option in my area. And this is how I met one of my mentors. He had seven Ferraris and a Bugatti Veyron. I just love working in his garage. I was surrounded by all those cool cars. And to this day, I would say that I gained more from his words of wisdom than I could bear for the job. So by upgrading your skills, you will be able to start earning a great deal of additional income. And we all love a little extra cash. A great way to use that extra income to create another side hustle is to save up on a down payment on a twin house and get a mortgage. This is called home penetration.

It is one of the fastest ways to increase your net worth when you are in your twenties. The double apartment has two separate living areas. The idea is that you can rent one side of the house and live on the other. By doing this, the other person pays a large portion of your mortgage. This means that you may end up with a completely free home when the mortgage is paid off and you also have a place to live for free and all the money you would have paid for the rent you can use to invest instead. So now the boss level, the fourth level is 30 and above. My goal was to turn my side struggles into a more passive income. As I had more money to invest in different opportunities. At this point what I valued more than money was time. And I wanted to spend more of that with my family.

At this point, I was looking to make 1.5 to 3k within the family per month, but I'm definitely over that now. I decided to invest in real estate. It is to this day one of the largest sources of additional income. When I bought my first rental property , it needed a lot of work. I accepted the challenge and used all my free time to fix it. With YouTube, you know, there's really nothing you can't learn and I was able to do all the work and rent a house in six weeks.

Now, of course you have become a professional in home repair, but when you start , sometimes it is more profitable to do it yourself. And to be honest, it was definitely a fun challenge. This first rental property still pays me passive income to this day. At the age of thirty you have gained a lot of valuable knowledge for others. So you can use this to practice in areas that you trust most. This could be anything from carpentry to fitness to business. There is a market to train everything you can think of. The key is to do this with many online, rather than one-to-one where you can help more people and not sell your time. To do this, you can create a digital product or you can create a YouTube channel that helps people for free. Just like I did. Work your way through all of these levels. You will have a massive skill set, multiple rental properties, digital products and a huge investment portfolio. When you reach this, you are past the tipping point where your side business brings in more than your day job.

This means that your money is working for you and not the other way around. And that's what the really wealthy have known and done for years. Now you will love this next video.
